Current epidemic in Hainan reaches turning point: authority
The current round of COVID-19 in south China's Hainan has reached a turning point, with new infections falling for four consecutive days, the anti-epidemic headquarters of the island province said Monday.
The province reported 232 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 535 asymptomatic carriers on Sunday.
Hainan has continued to help stranded visitors return home. From Aug. 9 to Sunday, a total of 165,737 visitors left, most of them by plane and ship.
Hainan registered 7,376 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 10,471 asymptomatic cases between Aug. 1 and 21.
