Greece, N. Macedonia to strengthen energy collaboration
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his visiting counterpart from North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovachevski, said here on Tuesday that the two neighboring countries will strengthen cooperation in the energy sector.
"Greece stands ready to support North Macedonia during these challenging times," Mitsotakis said welcoming Kovachevski, according to Greek national broadcaster ERT.
"Of course, I think it is in the interest of both countries to promote investments by Greek companies in North Macedonia and to connect our infrastructure in such a way that will increase the energy ties between our two countries," the Greek leader said.
"We have done a lot of preparations for this winter season, but of significant interest and of significant importance for us are the close ties that we have with Greece, especially so that the supply of raw materials for production of electricity in our facilities remains open during the whole winter and spring in 2023," Kovachevski said.
He also thanked Greece for supporting the start of North Macedonia's European Union (EU) accession negotiations.
