After three years of battling with the pandemic it has become clear how important interactive, digital solutions are in the field of health. Imagine someone that can organize your personalized medical record online, with your profile, history, biometrics and medication. Someone that allows you to remotely communicate with doctors, wherever and whenever you are. Vidavo, a greek startup can do all the above.
The idea for Vidavo – Healthcare Anytime Anywhere was born thirty years ago, during the preparation of its founder Pantelis Angelides' PhD. 20 years ago the company received legal status. "Since then, the Vidavo team has been consistently serving the field of technology, contributing to the digital transformation of health service providers through telemedicine and digital health solutions," the company's CEO, Markella Psymarnou, tells in an interview with?Naftemporiki.
The company's journey was demanding. "We faced many challenges, obstacles and disappointments," she explains. The main challenge was the absence of an institutional framework for telemedicine. Against the odds, however, the company has managed to make long-lived telemedicine projects in the country, it has emerged as one of the top one hundred e-health players worldwide, and has received numerous awards and innovation awards.
Vidavo's flagship product, the Vida24 platform, is a multi-layered and modular solution that has been implemented in a variety of organizational and business environments. It has been in production since 2005 and is constantly evolving. “It is important that it is a proven solution in large-scale applications for telehealth services and is available for immediate use. The delivery of services through the platform has published results of improving health indicators, saving resources and providing improved health services remotely," says Psymarnou.
One of the most important steps in the company's history was its introduction to the Alternative Market of the Athens Stock Exchange in 2010 (OASIS code: VINTA). This helped with the level of funding and gave it the momentum it needed to successfully continue to implement standard remote patient monitoring services and develop embrasures in primary and precision medicine, in a variety of hospitals and clinics, telemedicine on ships, tourism, but also in the independent living of vulnerable groups.
The company continues to grow along with its ambitions. "Responding to the ever-increasing demand for services connecting doctors and patients, within and outside borders with certified digital therapeutics solutions, our team is growing and so are our goals," emphasizes Ms. Psymarnou.
The company invests in innovation with the spin-out EMMA, developing a medical device to support clinical results, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to act as a digital advisor on the "frontline" of Medicine, the emergency rooms.
