China's State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Company has contributed its share to a green Asian Games in Hangzhou, capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province, by organizing several rounds of green power trading and providing green electricity to 56 competition venues of the Games.

Green electricity refers to power supply with zero or near-zero carbon dioxide emissions during the production process and a limited environmental impact. Green electricity used at the Games is generated by photovoltaic energy and wind power.

In keeping with the concept of a green Asian Games, the company has also used environmentally friendly technologies in equipment, transportation and delivery services.

For example, it has built high-power, wireless, Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging stations in the Hangzhou Asian Games Village. The facility will provide efficient and convenient charging service to secure green transportation in that area.

In addition, the company has constructed a "0.9-kilometre charging circle" in the Village so that users can reach a charging station within 0.9 kilometres.

All charging piles at the competition venues have also been put into operation, securing green transportation during the Games.
