China releases document on facilitating high-quality tourism development
BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese authorities have released a document on further unleashing the potential of tourism consumption and facilitating the high-quality development of tourism.
The document released by the General Office of the State Council noted that more efforts should be made in five aspects of work, namely enriching the supply of high-quality tourism products and services, stimulating tourism consumption demand, enhancing management and services related to inbound tourism, improving the tourism industry, and bolstering support for tourism development.
It proposed 30 measures in these regards, such as advancing the integrated development of culture and tourism, developing diversified tourism products, resuming the operation of international flights, and increasing their numbers, among others.
China has seen a steady recovery of tourism demand in 2023. Official data showed that the total number of domestic tourist trips reached 2.38 billion in the first half of 2023, up 63.9 percent yearly.
