BEIJING, May 1 (Xinhua) -- A domestically-produced new film spotlighting the Chinese police units on overseas peacekeeping missions hit China's big screen on Wednesday, the first day of the May Day holiday.

The new production, named "Formed Police Unit," spirals around a story about Chinese peacekeeping police going to foreign countries and war-torn areas to carry out peacekeeping missions.

In the process of making this film, a number of Chinese peacekeeping police personnel who had participated in overseas peacekeeping missions were invited to the film set to give guidance.

Andrew Lau Wai-Keung, the helmsman of the 2019 disaster blockbuster "The Captain," is the film's executive producer, and the movie stars Huang Jingyu, Wang Yibo and Zhong Chuxi.

The film crew said that through showcasing the story and spirit of Chinese peacekeeping police, the movie intends to pay tribute to all peacekeepers.
