BEIJING, July 14 (China Economic Net) - China's development model has not only benefited its own people but has also provided valuable insights to other countries through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Global Development Initiative (GDI), said Prof Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistani Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.

 

 

In an interview with China Economic Net, Iqbal highlighted China’s achievement as a global benchmark of lifting 800 million people out of poverty in an unprecedentedly short period. This success, he noted, underscores the country's capability to rapidly transform its socio-economic landscape.

 

While highlighting Chinese leadership vision of shared prosperity, the minister said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) stands as a flagship project that symbolizes the strong friendship between China and Pakistan. As China solidifies its future roadmap, both nations are expected to deepen their integration into global and regional markets.

 

Iqbal stated that the second phase of CPEC is particularly significant, outlining the creation of five new corridors on job creation, innovation, green energy and inclusive regional development. These corridors reflect the core principles of the BRI and are poised to deliver substantial benefits to China's global partners.

 

The planning minister further noted that China's developmental success offers four key lessons for other countries: peace, political stability, continuity of economic policies, and continuous commitment to reform.

 

He mentioned that China's ability to implement these principles has been pivotal to its rapid development. From grassroots initiatives to national policies, China's governance model exemplifies how coordinated efforts can achieve remarkable outcomes.

 

He said that as China continues to progress, it remains committed to sharing its experiences and fostering global cooperation, paving the way for a prosperous future for all its partners.
