1. To reinforce the rule of law
 
The regulations on fair competition review were approved by the State Council recently and will come into force from August 1. Such regulations are instrumental in building a rule-of-law-based government and society. The systematic upgrading of regulations is a way to regulate government behaviors through legal means. It helps to promote a better combination of effective market and competent government, and serves as a strong support for constructing a unified national market and new development paradigm. 
 
2. Grain industry facilitates good harvest to better benefit
 
Grain industry serves as an important industry in rural vitalization. Agricultural fields can be the location of first workshop of food processing enterprises. Through cultivation on demand, scale operation, specialized planting and reaping, high quality and good price, the problem of low comparative benefits in the grain planting can be solved. 
 
Policy
 
1. The work program on improving the science and technology finance was released by the People’s Bank of China and other six departments. The program aims to promote the capacity of financial institutions and markets to better provide science and technology finance, so as to serve science and technology innovation activities of innovative main bodies with full-chain and full-life-cycle financial service.
 
2. The China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement took effect on July 1, the first FTA signed between China and Central and Eastern European countries, and the 22nd FTA signed by China and other countries. Upon the entry into force of this FTA, both countries will gradually eliminate tariffs on 90 percent of goods.
 
3. Chinese Premier Li Qiang signed a decree of the State Council, unveiling a set of regulations on implementing the registered capital management system of Company Law on July 1, and the regulations went into effect upon release. 
 
Data
 
1. According to the data from the China Internet Network Information Center, the scale of online shopping users in China has exceeded 900 million. 95.1 percent of the "post-90s" and 88.5 percent of the "post-00s" are among the online shopping users, the main force of digital consumption.
 
2. China saw 32 newly emerging unicorn companies among the top 500 global unicorn companies this year, mostly in high-technology sectors such as smart manufacturing, automotive science and technology, financial science and technology, enterprise services and artificial intelligence.
 
3. The first Xining-Almaty Central Asia railway express was launched on June 30, carrying mainly white goods and polyvinyl chloride. The train was sent out from Xining Shuangzhai Railway Cargo Station, and was transported to Almaty, Kazakhstan via Khorgos Port.
 
4. Data from the State Post Bureau showed that as of 30 June, the volume of China's express delivery business has exceeded 80 billion pieces, 59 days ahead of last years’ schedule.
 
5. According to Kunming Customs, 2.761 million tonnes of goods were imported and exported through China-Laos Railway in the first half of this year, with a value of RMB 9.26 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 28.6 percent and 61.5 percent, respectively, a record high of the past six months.
 
6. According to China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, China's logistics industry prosperity index was 51.6 percent in June, continuing to be in the expansion zone. The new order indexes of the postal and express delivery industry and the air transport industry remained in the high prosperity zone.
 
7. According to the Ministry of Transport, from January to June, the number inward and outward ships from China's coastal and inland waterway ports reached 15.2 million, with a cargo throughput of 9.184 billion tonnes, up 14.35 percent and 4.85 percent year on year respectively.
 
8. In the first half of the year, 34.1 million tonnes of logistics were handled in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park, an increase of 5.87 percent year on year, with the container volume of 345,100 TEUs, an increase of 28.12 percent year on year; and the main revenue of the logistics industry was RMB 2.941 billion, an increase of 35.64 percent year on year.
 
9. Data from China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing on July 4 showed that China's e-commerce logistics index was 114.8 points in June, up 0.9 point from the previous month. Both the supply and demand sides of e-commerce logistics market showed an obvious growth. The growth rate of e-commerce logistics index continued to expand, with growth momentum lasting for four consecutive months.
 
10. According to the Ministry of Commerce, China's trade in services continued to grow rapidly from January to May, with the total value of service trade of about RMB 3.02 trillion, an increase of 16 percent year on year. Among them, exports totaled about RMB 1.22 trillion, up 11 percent; imports totaled about RMB 1.8 trillion, up 19.6 percent; with a deficit in service trade of RMB 582.84 billion.
