Iraqi FM, Arab League chief discuss regional developments over phone
BAGHDAD, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein held a phone conversation with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Monday to discuss regional developments and challenges facing Arab countries.
The two sides reviewed the pressing crises in the region and explored ways to address them in a way that contributes to regional security and stability, according to a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.
The two sides underscored the importance of strengthening joint coordination to confront current challenges, emphasizing the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to resolve crises in a way that serves the interests of the Arab peoples and enhances joint Arab cooperation, the statement said.
