YANGON, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- The sixth Yuntianhua Scholarship awarding ceremony was held at Yezin Agricultural University in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on Thursday. Yuntianhua Group Co., Ltd., a Chinese comprehensive industrial group, awarded the scholarship to 104 students.
At the ceremony, Ouyang Daobing, counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, said that "Yuntianhua Scholarship" and "Yuntianhua Study Abroad Fund" in Myanmar were not only an affirmation of the students' academic achievements, but also a vivid testament to a deep "Paukphaw" (fraternal) friendship between the peoples of China and Myanmar.
An increasing number of young people in Myanmar, by learning Chinese technology and participating in China-Myanmar cooperation projects, are becoming bridges of friendship and builders of bilateral ties, Ouyang said.
He said that through joint efforts, agricultural cooperation will yield even greater results and bring more tangible benefits to the people of both nations.
Speaking at the event, Myanmar's Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung emphasized the importance of China-Myanmar agricultural cooperation in enhancing Myanmar's food security and improving farmers' income.
Since its launch in 2017, "Yuntianhua Scholarship" has funded 505 students from Myanmar's Yezin Agricultural University. "Yuntianhua Study Abroad Fund" has helped 39 teachers and students from the university study in Chinese universities.
