RIYADH, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd (CATL) on Saturday opened the Middle East's first NING SERVICE Experience Center here, marking its largest new energy aftermarket facility outside China.

CATL said the center will boost its after-sales support in the Middle East and support the region's clean energy transition. The Riyadh facility provides full-lifecycle after-sales services, including battery repair, maintenance, training and recycling.

Anbasa Kandiel, chief advisor of the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, told Xinhua that the ministry welcomes CATL and other leading new energy companies to enter, operate, and invest in the kingdom.

"The Ministry encourages and looks forward to more Chinese new energy companies coming to Saudi Arabia to work together with the kingdom in advancing the goals of Vision 2030, particularly by deepening cooperation in key areas such as low-carbon transformation," he said.

Renewable energy is a key part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the national economy and promote sustainable development.

Bruce Li, president of aftermarket and battery management at CATL, said the company will further expand its Middle East service network to support the region's energy transition.

"Our decision to establish this center in Riyadh is not only a commercial choice, but a long-term commitment," Li said.
