Seven European countries - France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, and the UK - have deployed a total of 37 troops to Greenland to participate in the Arctic Endurance military exercise. US President Donald Trump subsequently declared that he would impose a new 10% tariff on Denmark and these participating countries until an agreement is reached for the purchase of Greenland. Trump further stated that the tariff would increase to 25% if a deal is not finalized by June 1.
