Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) is continuing to promote education and knowledge by bringing students and academics closer to the operations of a modern port.

During the first half of 2026, a total of 557 students and university professors visited the Port of Piraeus, where they attended presentations on key port activities and took part in organised tours.

Through direct contact with the port ecosystem, visitors had the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how the Port of Piraeus operates, as well as its role in the economy and global connectivity.

PPA thanked the educational institutions that choose Piraeus as a destination for educational visits, highlighting the importance of strengthening links between the port and the wider academic and educational community.

Piraeus Port Authority provides practical support to the municipality of Salamina for the restoration of areas affected by recent wildfires.

Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) responded promptly to a request from the Municipality of Salamina for assistance with restoration efforts in areas affected by the recent wildfires on the island, covering the cost of an excavator to support the collection and removal of fire-damaged materials, according to a statement.

This initiative forms part of PPA S.A.’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and solidarity with local communities and areas affected by natural disasters. Through its immediate mobilization and by covering the operational cost of the necessary machinery and its operator, PPA S.A. is contributing to the Municipality’s efforts to accelerate restoration and ensure the safe management of the aftermath of the wildfire.

As part of this cooperation, PPA representatives visited the affected areas and the sites where restoration works are being carried out to gain a first-hand understanding of the extent of the damage and the needs that have arisen. The presence of PPA representatives on site confirmed the need for immediate support for the Municipality’s operational efforts and contributed to the effective coordination of the assistance provided.

PPA S.A. expresses its solidarity with the residents of Salamina affected by wildfires and remains committed to supporting local communities, particularly in times of emergency, through initiatives that put into practice its long-standing commitment to responsible and active engagement with society.
