WUZHEN, Nov. 4 (China Economic Net) – Pakistan is seeking to deepen cooperation with China in digital transformation, green energy, smart agriculture and technological innovation, Pakistan's Minister Press & Culture at the Embassy of Pakistan in China, Manzoor Ali Memon, said at a forum held during the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit on Wednesday.

Addressing the Forum on Digital and Intelligent Technologies for Green and Low-Carbon Development, Memon said Pakistan-China cooperation provides a strong foundation for advancing sustainable development, highlighting the potential to combine China’s technological capabilities with Pakistan’s human resources, strategic location and emerging digital ecosystem.

The forum brought together Chinese and international representatives from government, industry and academia to discuss how digital and intelligent technologies can accelerate green and low-carbon development.

Memon noted that Pakistan and China are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, describing their relationship as an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership built on mutual trust, mutual respect and a shared commitment to development and prosperity.

He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had strengthened infrastructure, expanded energy capacity and enhanced regional connectivity, while CPEC 2.0 was opening new avenues for cooperation through five corridors focused on growth, innovation, green development, livelihoods and regional connectivity.

These priorities, he added, align with Pakistan’s 5Es framework, which covers exports, e-Pakistan, energy and environment, and equity and empowerment under the Uraan Pakistan development program.

Memon said the next phase of cooperation would extend beyond traditional infrastructure into industrial development, agricultural modernization, renewable energy, technological innovation and digital transformation.

He also highlighted opportunities in energy storage, electric mobility and smart technologies, encouraging Chinese experts and enterprises to explore partnerships with Pakistani counterparts to build a more efficient and sustainable energy system.

Agriculture, he said, represents a particularly promising area for bilateral cooperation as both countries seek to strengthen food security, improve productivity and address the effects of climate change.

The ongoing training of 1,000 Pakistani agricultural professionals at Chinese universities is an important investment in Pakistan’s agricultural future, Memon said, adding that exposure to advanced technologies and modern farming techniques would help the professionals contribute to agricultural modernization after returning home.

He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among universities, research institutions, technology companies and agricultural organizations to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions and generate inclusive economic growth.

Memon also called for stronger international partnerships, responsible innovation and digital inclusion, saying digital technologies should improve people’s lives while strengthening environmental sustainability and economic resilience.

“Let us ensure that every technological breakthrough brings us closer to a greener environment, a more resilient economy, greater food security, and a more sustainable future for generations to come,” he said.
