ISLAMABAD, Nov. 6, (China Economic Net)- A new Center of Excellence in heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) opened its doors at the National Skills University (NSU) in Islamabad on November 5, marking a step forward in transferring China's technology to Pakistan through vocational education and youth skill programs.
The facility, branded the "Kaiwu Workshop," is designed to deliver hands-on training in HVAC installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, equipping Pakistani students with skills aligned with both domestic industry needs and international standards.

The workshop is a multi-party initiative. The National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and NSU serve as the Pakistani institutional anchors, while Harbin Vocational University of Construction Technology provides academic and technical expertise. CSCEC Pakistan acts as the key industrial partner. UNI International, the China-Pakistan Industry and Education Integration International Service Center, the China-Pakistan Digital Education Alliance and ITMC round out the founding coalition.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Chairman NAVTTC Engr. Qamar ul Islam Raja highlighted that the new centre would help modernize Pakistan's technical education system and prepare skilled professionals for the country's expanding construction and infrastructure sectors.
The workshop is expected to play a meaningful role in building a skilled workforce for Pakistan's construction, infrastructure and energy efficient building industries—sectors where demand for certified HVAC technicians is rising as the country invests in housing, commercial real estate and green building standards.
