It would take months to identify the victims' bodies of the crashed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, head of the Estonian Forensic Science Institute Ullar Lanno said on Wednesday.

According to Lanno, the Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) reported, DNA tests are only part of the process of identifying the remains, with fingerprints, teeth, scars from operations or injuries, tattoos, or even jewelry and wedding rings used for identification.

Relatives and friends will be asked to describe the above marks and DNA samples will be taken from relatives, which will all take time, Lanno said, addeing some remains may never be recovered.

He said the bodies of people sitting near the explosion may have evaporated and could not be traced or found.

Earlier last weekend the Estonian government announced that its police expert team has been ready to help identify the MH17 victims if needed.

According to earelier reports, two aircraft with the first bodies of the victims of the MH17 plane crash in Ukraine landed at Eindhoven Airport, The Netherlands, on Wednesday.

According to specialists, the identification can happen quickly sometimes, but in some cases it will take months. A total of 298 people, of which 193 are Dutch citizens, died in the plane crash last Thursday.

Meanwhile, the black box recorders from the crashed MH17 flight have arrived in Britain for data downloading and analysis, the British Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said Wednesday.
