Chinese Consulate General in Lahore Celebrates 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

LAHORE, Sept 24 (China Economic Net) - Amidst the festive atmosphere leading up to China’s National Day on October 1, the Chinese Consulate General in Lahore held a grand reception on September 22 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event, attended by a diverse and esteemed gathering of over 350 individuals, underscored the enduring strength of Sino-Pak friendship and the shared commitment to further deepening bilateral ties.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, along with other provincial dignitaries, warmly congratulated China on this milestone occasion, underscoring the resilience and enduring nature of Pak-China friendship. “As we mark this important milestone in China’s history, we reiterate our unwavering commitment to strengthening our ties with Beijing,” said the CM. “Pak-China friendship is a beacon of hope and cooperation, and we look forward to continuing to learn from China’s experiences and deepening our pragmatic cooperation, particularly in the context of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).”
Echoing similar sentiments, Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan also offered their congratulations, highlighting the critical role that CPEC plays in fostering economic growth and development in both countries.
In his keynote address, Chinese Consul General in Lahore Zhao Shiren took the opportunity to reflect on China’s remarkable journey over the past 75 years, highlighting the “two miracles” of rapid economic growth and social stability. He also shared insights into the outcomes of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the “Three Global Initiatives,” and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), emphasizing China’s commitment to reforming and modernizing its systems while contributing to the global community.
“As China presses ahead with its reforms and modernization drive, we are confident that it will continue to play a pivotal role in fostering a shared future for all mankind,” said Consul General Zhao. “For countries like Pakistan, this presents new opportunities, creates new momentum, and brings about new benefits as we strive to modernize and develop our nations together.”
