Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-06-07 19:50

The goods trade of Beijing will reach $500 billion by 2015, accounting for more than 1 percent of the global goods trade, said a recent statement from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

The capital's foreign trade reached $389.5 billion in 2011, up 29.1 percent from the previous year.

Trade involving e-commerce will account for more than 5 percent of the capital's foreign trade by 2015, according to the statement.

To adjust the trade structure, the commission will seek approval from the Ministry of Commerce to set up at least five demonstration zones for trade upgrading and transformation.

Enterprises are encouraged to engage in drawing up international standards and set up overseas sales networks.

Support measures will be introduced to fulfill the goals.

A joint team, with staff from the municipal departments of finance, taxation and customs, will be established to solve major problems stemming the capital's trade growth.
