Hong Kong flat sales up 7.0% in May |

Hong Kong's Land Registry recorded 11,484 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in May, up 7.0 percent from April, the department said Monday, adding the figure was down 8.4 percent from a year ago.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in May was 65.4 billion HK dollars (about 8.4 billion U.S. dollars), up 7.5 percent from April and up 3.5 percent year on year. Of the agreements, 8,349 were for residential units, up 1.6 percent from April and down 13.8 percent from a year earlier.
Total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was 47.4 billion HK dollars, up 6 percent from April and down 4.2 percent year on year.
There were 470,907 land-register searches in May, up 13.5 percent from April and down 5.6 percent from a year ago. |
