Macao's visitor arrivals in February this year dropped by 1.5 percent year-on-year to 2,130,977, according to figures released on Friday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Of all the arrivals in February, 53.3 percent spent only one day. The average length of stay of visitors decreased by 0.1 day year-on-year to 0.9 day, the figures indicated.
Analyzed by place of residence, visitors from the Chinese mainland increased by 6.7 percent year-on-year to 1.28 million, 60. 3 percent of the total, of which 514,095 traveling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme, down by 11.4 percent year-on-year.
Visitors from South Korea (45,441) and Japan (40.129) increased by 15.5 percent and 25.1 percent respectively, while those from China's Hong Kong (520,144) and Taiwan (83,357) decreased by 20.9 percent and 3.4 percent year-on-year.
Long haul visitors from the United States (20,853), Europe (18, 926) and Oceania (9,386) also recorded increases of 4.4 percent, 8. 6 percent and 14.7 percent year-on-year in February 2012. |
