The 416.5-meter bridge at the Yueya Island park caved in between two piers.

The local government invested 58 million yuan ($9.12 million) in the project and construction began in November. It was scheduled to be finished in July. Local authorities didn't say whether the completion date will be delayed.

Engineers are examining for the bridge and two newly built bridges in the park to find if there are any potential safety hazards.

The local government said it will ascertain where the responsibility lies and announce the details to the public after the investigation.
