Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met Wednesday with a delegation of the Hong Kong-based New Home Association led by its president Hui Wing-mau, urging closer ties between the mainland and Hong Kong.
Expressing her appreciation for the association's hard work in seeking benefits for migrants, Liu urged the association to make more efforts in helping new migrants feel at home in their local community.
The association provides services for people newly settled in Hong Kong and helps them contribute to the local society.
