Senior official Li Changchun has called for greater efforts to promote cultural system reform in China during his trip to southern Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Monday to Friday.

Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited local cultural institutes, museum, publishing house and broadcasting companies in several cities in Guangxi.

He said more efforts must be made to achieve the goal of "building a strong nation of socialist culture," which was set at the sixth plenary session of the 17th CPC Central Committee last year.

He said the decision of the CPC Central Committee had created an opportunity for the great development and prosperity of socialist culture, which should not be missed.

Li also visited local enterprises to learn about their achievements in improving competitiveness through technology innovation.
