Senior CPC leader vows to bolster ties with Malaysia

Visiting senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) He Guoqiang on Saturday pledged to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Malaysia.

In his meeting with Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Mohamad Yassin, He, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, hailed the development of bilateral ties in the past 38 years since the two nations forged diplomatic relations.

Bilateral cooperation has facilitated the development the growth of both countries and their cooperation in east Asia helped maintain regional peace, stability and development, said He, also head of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

The Chinese government and the CPC highly value the ties with Malaysia, said He, calling on the two sides to work closer to intensify political exchange, expand economic cooperation with mutual benefit in a bid to generate more profits that can be shared by the two peoples.

He also spoke highly of the CPC's relations with Malaysia's ruling United Malays National Organization (UMNO), pledging that the CPC would further cooperation with the UMNO to promote the ties between the two parties and two nations to a higher level.

Muhyiddin agreed with He's view on bilateral relations, saying the Malaysian side was satisfied with the current growth of the Malaysia-China ties.

Muhyiddin, also serving as the UMNO deputy president, No. 2 post of the party, said cooperation between the two parties has played a positive role in helping push forward the relations between the two nations and two peoples.

The Malaysian deputy president also extended his congratulations to China's successful launch of the Shenzhou-9 spaceship.

The Chinese senior official concluded his good-will official visit to Malaysia on Sunday morning. Malaysia is the third leg of his four-nation tour which has brought him to the Laos and Cambodia. He will start a visit to Russia on Monday.
