Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, called for international cooperation to address global issues here on Wednesday as he conferred with a number of foreign experts.

The international community is increasingly becoming a community of common destiny, as interconnection and interdependence among countries are constantly deepening, he said.

Faced with the complex situation of the world economy and global issues, no country can go it alone or outshine others, Xi said, noting that today's world is not tranquil, but the theme of this era is still peace and development.

Xi called on the international community to work together with one heart to deal with challenges, promote mankind's common interests and build a better home planet.

The international community should strive to establish a more equal and balanced global development partnership, he said.

Countries should take the legitimate concerns of other countries into account when they pursue their own interests, as well as promote the development of all countries when they pursue their own development, according to Xi.
