Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali called on other nations to expel Syrian ambassadors to protest the Syrian government's "bloody repression" against its people, Tunisian media reported on Sunday.
Jebali made the remarks at a security conference held in Germany's Munich. "The very least we can do is to sever our relations with the Syrian regime," he said.
Tunisia was the first Arab country to announce the decision to expel Syria's ambassador and to cut relations with the Syrian government.
The North African country made the announcement on Saturday, following the escalated violence in central Syria's Homs city, which is said to have claimed the lives of more than 200 people. |
