CAIRO, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Egypt will hold the presidential elections at the end of May, official Al-Ahram newspaper quoted a minister as saying on Wednesday.
Presidential candidates will be given three weeks to submit their documents, starting from March 10, and 45 days to make campaigns, State Minister for Local Development Mohamed Attiya said.
The Presidential Elections Commission will set the date of the polls, he added.
The ruling military council has previously announced that the presidential elections would be held in mid-June. Potential presidential candidates include former Arab League chief Amr Moussa, former Muslim Brotherhood top official Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh and former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik. |
