Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-06-20 06:15

The election campaign of the Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate Mohamed Morsi filed 140 appeals over the run-off results to the Higher Presidential Elections Commission (HPEC), state media reported on Tuesday.

In a press conference, senior member of Morsi's campaign Ahmed Abdul-Atii noted that those appeals included the works of counting and sorting the votes in some balloting stations, and accusations to his rival Ahmed Shafiq for affecting the voters' will, official news agency MENA reported. According to HPEC, doors for appeals and objections will be opened till Tuesday midnight, which will be examined on Wednesday.

The yet counted votes won't affect the final results, calling for respecting people's will, said Abdul-Atii.

"Morsi won 52 percent of the votes against 48 percent for his rival Ahmed Shafiq, according to the official documents of the elections results all over Egypt issued by the judges," said Abdul- Atii.

He asserted that neither Brotherhood nor its Freedom and Justice Party seeking clashes with others, adding that they would participate in Tuesday's million march with Egyptian citizens and political forces to oppose the supplementary constitutional declaration issued by the ruling military council on Monday.

He also said the coming president should have full powers, but not above the constitution. Those against the popular will have to retreat.

On Brotherhood's website, Morsi's campaign announced that they had won 13.237 million votes, while Shafiq had won 12,338,973. The total valid votes are 25,475,973.

Egypt held the run-off of the presidential election on Saturday and Sunday with the two candidates both claiming their victory.

The ruling military council affirmed that they will transfer power to the newly elected president before the end of June.
