A roadside bomb killed a child and injured three other people in northwest Pakistan on Wednesday, police said.
The bomb was detonated with a remote control device on a bridge in the outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital for treatment. Doctors said the injured are in stable condition.
No group claimed responsibility for the blast.
A man was held from near the site. According to sources, a remote control has been recovered from his possession.
In another development, a bomb blast that occurred early Wednesday in the town of Takhtbhai, some 80 kilometers from Peshawar, caused damage to nearly 20 shops at a music CD market, police said, adding that no one was hurt in the blast. |
