Indian president expresses confidence in economy as parliament begins budget session |

Indian President Pratibha Patil Monday told the opening ceremony of the Budget Session of the Indian Parliament that the Indian economy is better off in 2011 despite the difficult situation in the world.
Addressing a Joint House of Parliament, Patil also expressed her confidence that the Indian economy will revert to an 8 to 9 percent growth rate soon.
Patil also said that the government is working to tackle the serious problem of corruption and black money. |
