Dozens of forest fires were still burning across more than 900 hectares of Siberia's land, and 13 of these fires were confined, Russia's Itar-Tass news agency said Monday.
The report said that over 38 forest fires are raging in the Transbaical and Krasnoyarsk Regions of the republics of Buryatia and Khakassia, and currently there is no risk of further spreading to populated areas.
Local fire fighting department has been very actively engaged in combating these forest fires.
It is believed that human errors and burning of dry-grass are the main causes of the fires. |
