South Korea will offer additional humanitarian assistance to Fiji to help the country cope with severe flooding that has displaced thousands, the foreign ministry here said Wednesday.
The government will offer sanitary supplies and medicines worth 50,000 U.S. dollars, considering a surge in water-borne diseases such as typhoid in Fiji, a ministry spokesman said in a statement.
The supplies will be delivered to Fiji "as quickly as possible, " the official said.
In February, South Korea offered 50,000 dollars to the South Pacific country to help rescue and reconstruction efforts there. |
