Afghan President Hamid Karzai left Kabul for Germany as head of a high ranking delegation on Tuesday, a statement released by his office here said.
During his stay to Germany, the Afghan President would ink the long-term partnership with German Chancellor Angela Markel between the two nations on Wednesday, the statement added.
From Germany, President Karzai would straight go for the United States to attend the coming NATO summit scheduled for May 20-21 in Chicago where Afghanistan would top its agenda.
Afghan President and his U.S.-counterpart Barack Obama inked strategic partnership between their countries early this month.
The United States and its allied nations are going to pledge 4. 1 billion U.S. dollars at the summit annually to support Afghan security forces for another decade after 2014 when the NATO-led 130,000-strong troops with some 90,000 of them Americans vacate the militancy-plagued central Asian state. |
