Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-06-18 18:08

An explosion rocked Tagab town in Kapisa province 65 km north of capital Kabul on Monday killing four local police, an official said.

"The blast happened in the bazaar of Tagab district at around 12:00 noon today killing four local community police," the official told Xinhua but declined to give his name, saying authorized officials would brief the media after investigation.

Meantime, Interior Ministry in a statement released here, confirmed the incident, saying four people were killed and six others sustained injuries.

The statement also put the attack on Taliban, adding the Taliban militants detonated the explosive device by remote control in the bazaar of Tagab today and once again demonstrated their enmity with the people.

Taliban militants fighting the government have yet to make comment.
