Two people were killed and four others injured in a predawn fire that burned down a house in Kagoshima City, southwestern Japan, Wednesday, local press reported.

Fire broke out at a house in Shineicho, Kagoshima City, at around 3:30 a.m. local time. Local firefighters put off the fire about 30 minutes later, but the three-story building was totally destroyed. The building was used both as restaurant and residence by a local owner.

Two people were found dead in the debris of the house and four others were injured and sent to hospital.

Local police are investigating the cause of the blaze.
