Four people were killed and many injured in a massive fire which ripped a disco pub on Thailand's southern resort island Phuket early Friday, local media reported.

The blaze broke out around 3:55 am local time on the second floor of the Tiger Pub on the island's popular western Patong beach frequented by crowds of local and foreign tourists.

Earlier reports said fire fighters have found four bodies trapped in the fire and authorities are unable to give the exact number of the injured.
