Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-09-12 17:35

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Wednesday it will not receive flood aid from South Korea, an abrupt about-face, local media reported.

The move came two days after the DPRK accepted South Korea's offer of emergency relief aid designed to help the northern neighbor recover from dry spells, heavy rains and typhoons in recent months, the first such offer in two years.

Pyongyang, which said floods killed 169 people and left 400 missing, voiced discontent over what Seoul's offer of 10,000 tons of flour, instant noodles and medicine, according to officials cited by Yonhap News Agency.
