India asks Pakistan to hand over Mumbai attacks mastermind
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-12-11 14:00

India will demand that Pakistan hand over the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai terror attacks, Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafiz Saeed, during Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik's visit later this week.

"I am quite sure that when he (Malik) will come here, I will discuss with him this issue," Indian Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told media on Monday.

Malik is likely to begin his three-day visit to India this Friday.

India has given Pakistan at least seven dossiers containing evidence of Saeed's involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks in which over 170 people were killed and more than 300 others injured.

India last month executed Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the only militant caught alive in the Mumbai massacre, after the country's Supreme Court upheld his death penalty handed down to him by a special court which in 2010 convicted him for his role in the attacks.
