In a tragic incident, five children were killed and one more sustained serious injuries in a wall collapse in the Indian capital Wednesday, a senior police official said.
"The incident happened when at Dallupura village near Mayur Vihar in the east of the national capital around 10 a.m. when the six children were playing in a vacant plot. An under-construction boundary wall collapsed and all the six children got trapped under the debris on the plot," the official said.
Fire brigade officials and local people rushed all the victims to a nearby hospital where five children were declared dead while another is battling for his life, he said, unwilling to be named.
A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official added. |
