The body of the 23-year-old gang- rape victim was cremated here Sunday morning, hours after it was flown from Singapore, said an Indian Home Ministry spokesman.
"The body arrived this morning and the cremation has been done, " a home ministry spokesperson told the media.
The body of the victim of the horrifying gang rape arrived here at 03:30 a.m. local time from Singapore.
The woman's body was embalmed after a post-mortem in Singapore and placed in a special casket before being flown to India in a chartered Air India aircraft. Parents of the woman were accompanying the body, according to Indo-Asian News Service. |
