South Korea's President-elect Park Geun-hye on Thursday nominated the head of her transition team as the prime minister.
Kim Yong-joon, a former constitutional court chief, co-headed Park's campaign and went on to lead her transition team tasked with preparing for taking over the government.
"If the nomination is endorsed by the parliament, I will do my best to serve the president in accordance with the constitution," the 74-year-old told reporters.
With the nomination, Kim will face a parliamentary confirmation hearing in the coming weeks. Park takes office next month. |
