2 killed in ethnic conflicts in north India
Two were killed Monday in police firing during ethnic clashes in Assam of north India, according to local news channel NDTV.
The violence broke out Monday afternoon at Goalpara, 120 km from the state capital of Guwahati
Four other people were reportedly injured. Police said more than 300 local people involved in the ethnic clashes, adding that for safety's concern, the police had to fire during the clashes.
The angry people reportedly damaged several vehicles of government officials. The situation was becoming tense, the report said.
