French President Nicolas Sarkozy vowed Saturday in his New Year greetings to devote higher interest on French job seekers following disappointing job data and pledged to put training of jobless people on top of his agenda at the last four months of his mandate.

"We'll build our competitiveness ... by our capacity to give to job seeker a place in the nation. That's why popple who lost their jobs will be the object of our attention," French President said.

"We must change our view to the unemployment in a way to consider training of jobless people the absolute priority in order to let every one be able to make his future," he added.

Sarkozy planned to meet on Jan.18 representatives of the country' economic and social forces to seek ways to breathe life into the domestic job market.

"On Jan. 18, with prime minster, we will get together to listen to the proposals from representatives of economic and social forces and by the end of January, we will take important decisions because the issues are crucial," Sarkozy noted.

In his last New Year's greeting message, Sarkozy pledges to energise efforts enough to assume his responsibilities in a likely move to regain voters confidence ahead presidential election scheduled next April.

"...My duty is to address all the problems and protect you. You can be sure that I will assume to the end the heavy responsibilities you have entrusted me. I will not stop acting for the general interest," French head of state said.
