A total of seven people died in two separate house fires in Russia's east and north on Wednesday.
Four of the deaths occurred in a house fire in the northern Russian city of Yakutsk, Itar-Tass news agency reported.
Fire fighters battled the blaze for hours. However, as the fire alarm came too late, they were unable to prevent the blaze engulfing the wooden house, which finally collapsed, the report said. The victims' bodies were later found at the scene.
Another wooden house burned down in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, in far eastern Khabarovsk region, leaving three dead.
The causes of the two fires are under investigation. |
