French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Friday met with British Prime Minister David Cameron to discuss ways to cement the two countries' defense partnership and to seal a lucrative deal on nuclear power.
The Paris summit between the two leaders "will focus on strengthening the Franco-British cooperation on defense, with the realization of several projects ... and strengthening our partnership in the field of civilian nuclear energy," said a statement from the Elysee Palace.
Local media reports said Friday's talks were targeted to give impetus to the European armed drone project.
They would also discuss recent developments in Syria and Iran and on the meeting of European Council next month, the statement added.
A joint press conference was slated at 1130 GMT. |
