Russia's ISS crew back to earth on April 27
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-03-29 06:49

The landing of Russia's manned spacecraft Soyuz TMA-22 from the International Space Station (ISS) is slated for April 27, Russia's federal space agency Roscosmos said Wednesday.

Roscosmos official Alexei Krasnov told RIA Novosti news agency that Roscosmos and its foreign partners in the ISS project have agreed on the landing date.

In January, Roscosmos announced to delay the launch of Soyuz TMA-04M due to an air leak found in the rocket's reentry vehicle.

Three crew members in the ISS -- Russian cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Anatoly Ivanishin, and NASA astronaut Dan Burbank -- have to spend one more month in the station than their scheduled return date of March 16.

Three other members, Oleg Kononenko from Russia, Andre Kuipers from the European Space Agency (ESA) and Donald Pettit from NASA, will continue to stay in the station until May.

The next crew to ISS, including Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Sergei Revin and NASA astronaut Joseph Acaba, is expected to fly to ISS on May 15.

After the retirement of the U.S. shuttle fleet, Russia's Soyuz spacecraft has become the only way for astronauts to reach the ISS at least until 2015.
