A group of 16 tourists were missing in the mountains of Russia's North Caucasus republic of Kabardino- Balkaria, local media reported Thursday.
The contact with the 16 tourists from Russian southern city of Astrakhan was lost, the regional emergency situations department was quoted as saying by the Ria Novosti news agency.
According to the report, the tourists took a 117-km mountainous route.
The regional emergency situations department said they had dispatched a helicopter and 20 rescuers to follow the tourists' route. However, the search operation yielded no results.
Further search is still under way. |
