Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-09-28 10:55

Albanian President Bujar Nishani said here Thursday that his country "remains committed to international cooperation".

The Albanian president also voiced the country's belief in dialogue to bridge the gap among different groups of people.

The president made the remarks in his speech at the general debate of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly, which entered its third day here on Thursday.

"I'm proud to represent a country and a society, which is widely known for its broad mindedness, tolerance and acceptance of the other," said Nishani.

"It is against this background that Albania remains a strong believer in the dialogue among civilizations and will never stop engaging actively in bridging the differences among the wider membership," he said.

Speaking of the recent video that sparked outrage in the Arab world, he said "We cannot permit that the reckless sporadic actions of disruptive groups obstruct us from a genuine effort to reach a better understanding of each other in a world everyday more globalized."
