Palestinian and Israeli peace negotiators will meet within a few days in the Jordanian capital Amman, a Palestinian official said Sunday.
"The meeting will discuss the possibility of resuming direct talks," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
He also mentioned that the meeting will be held under the auspices of Jordan and the international Quartet for peace, including the United Nations, the United States, the European Union and Russia.
"Our negotiators will stick to our national demands to stop settlement construction and accept the two-state solution," he added.
The Quartet has set January 26 as the deadline to resume the peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. |
