Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday condemned an Israeli raid at the headquarters of two local television stations in the West Bank.
The raid caused Watan and al-Quds educational televisions to stop broadcasting after soldiers seized transmission amplifiers and other equipment.
"This is a flagrant aggression against freedom of information and expression," Abbas said in a brief statement.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad joined dozens of journalists protesting the raid in front of Watan television headquarters in Ramallah.
"This is part of the aggressive policy of the Israeli occupation that it practices daily against the Palestinian people, " Fayyad said, accusing Israel of working to "strike the Palestinian National Authority." |
